Billie Vredenburgh, 89, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 3:35pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on May 3, 1933, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy {Gritten} Budnovich, both deceased. She was united in marriage to George Vredenburgh on January 8, 1954. He will miss her dearly.
She will also be missed by her children, Rodney (Cathy) Vredenburgh, George (Tina) Vredenburgh II, Lora (Max) Whittington, Mika (Connie) Vredenburgh, & Holly (Mike) Ramsey; her 11 grandchildren; her 23 great grandchildren; her siblings, Marianne Sullivan, Anita Dowden, & Donald Budnovich; and her special family members, Joy Merlie & Terry Blankenbeckler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lou Budnovich; her daughter-in-law, Rita Vredenburgh; and her grandparents, William Milo & Mertie Gritten.
Mom was a homemaker and loved taking care of her children and later grandchildren. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star and stood as secretary for the VFW in Rockville, IN, for 30 plus years while serving on the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Mom loved attending her families’ sporting events and crocheting. She was known to love to cook and was famous for her noodles and loved to dance. Mom will be remembered deeply for all the memories she made with her family and friends.
A celebration of Billie’s life will be held at 11:00am (EST), Monday, May 16, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm (EST), Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the funeral home. As per her wishes, Billie will be accorded cremation rites following services. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Eastern Star or VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Rockville.
