William R. Delp

     William R. Delp, 84, of Westville, passed away at 5:10am, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.  He was born in Perrysville, Indiana, on March 16, 1938, the son of Chester Delp Sr and Thelma Alverna Delp.
     He was married to Patsy Warrick, and they had two children, Willy (Donna) Delp of Westville and Steven Delp of Westville.  He later married Henrietta James on October 20, 1978, and gained his stepchildren, Ronald James Jr (deceased), Angela James (deceased), and Tresa Wilcox (Dan) Chatham.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Patsy Jo ‘PJ”, Dawn, Kaileigh, Collin, & Erin; his great grandkids, Kerissa, Hayden, Logun, Kailub, Jakub, Kara, Kyler, Jackson, & Harper-Rose; his great-great grandchild, Elijah; his brother, Jarvis Delp & Lonnie Delp; and his sisters, Helen Gebhart, Nina Rudolph, Gladis Carpenter, & Jodi Delp; and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Chester, Tommy, & Bud; and his sister, Mary Delp.
     William was the meat manager at Westville IGA for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and working on cars.  He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
     A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, April 8, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating.  Visitation will be held 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday prior to his service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, at a later date.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to donor’s choice of charity.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
