Valerie (Strader) Delva

     Valerie Delva, 65, of Westville, passed away at 12:38am, December 2, 2022, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL.  She was born on February 14, 1957, in Danville, the daughter of Russell and Kathleen {Brown} Strader, both deceased.  She was united in marriage to Larry Delva on August 5, 1977, until his passing on October 11, 2021.
     She is survived by her son, Jason (Leslie) Delva; her grandchildren, Brianna & Logan; and her sister, Karen Sue (Bill) Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Dale & Don; and her sister, Pam.
     Valerie loved to play the poker machines as well as Bingo.  She also enjoyed arts and crafting and taking care of her home. She was known to enjoy raising finches.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
    A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Coy Overpeck officiating.  Visitation will be held 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday prior to her service at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Danville.  Memorial donations may be given in her name to donor’s choice of charity.  Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
