Danville – Terry Lee Evans, 64, of Danville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Terry was born on April 28, 1956 the son of Raymond Harold and Louella Irene (Poytner) Evans in Danville, IL. He married Patricia D. Riley on June 11, 1977 in Alvin, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Evans of Danville, IL, his wife, Patricia Evans of Danville, IL, one son, Bryant Evans of Danville, IL, three grandchildren, Braxton Evans, Bailey Evans and Kaleb Fraizier, all of Danville, brothers, Donald (Becky) Evans of Bismarck, IL, Roger (Angie) Evans of Rantoul, IL, and twin brother, Larry (Debbie) Evans of Flanagan, IL, special niece, Mary (Jim) Ashlock of Streator, IL, special nephew, Mike (Kate) Evans of Bismarck, IL, special great nieces, Adi Ashlock and Miryssa Ashlock, and special nephew, Tyler Evans, as well as several other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Terry was a retired Corrections Officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was an active member of the CrossRoads Christian Church where he faithfully served the Lord and his church. Terry also volunteered at Hanging Rock Christian Camp where he was very instrumental in the equestrian program at the camp.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 26, 2021 at CrossRoads Christian Church 3613 N Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61832. Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, IN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at CrossRoads Christian Church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the visitation or services wear a mask and practice social distancing.
