Robert Dean "Bob" Rice

Danville – Robert Dean “Bob” Rice, 81, of Danville, IL passed away at 7:10 AM on November 17, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Bob was born on March 5, 1939 the son of William and Mary F. (Brewer) Rice in Catlin, IL.

Survivors include his son, Robert Rice of Westville, IL, two daughters, Lori Gillen of Danville, IL and Deanna (Kelly) Ratliff of Tennessee, one sister, Nancy (Bob) Meeker of Camby, OR as well as nine grandchildren, Ashley, John, Cody, Jakab, Odesa, Rebecca, Andre, Kayla and Chris and nine great-grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Ray, Earl, Henry, John and Jim Rice.

Bob worked in various roles, including Management, at various grocery store in the Danville area for many years. Most recently, Bob worked at the Sav-A-Lot. He was a people person and enjoyed spending his free time visiting with family and friends. Bob also enjoyed pitching Horseshoes and going to casinos.

A Private Family Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of visitation or services wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
