Oakwood – Robert “Bobby” Kent Johnson, III, 52, of Oakwood passed away at 5:21 PM on October 4, 2021 at his home in Oakwood with his “Tribe” by his side.

Bobby was born on January 30, 1969 in Danville IL the son of Robert and Barbara (Jones) Johnson, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Maisey Johnson of Oakwood, IL, his mother, Barbara Parr of Oakwood, IL, his significant other, Molly Dazey of Oakwood, IL, his sister, Lori Heffner of Decatur, IL and his half-brother, Christopher Strader of Danville, IL.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Cheri Johnson.

Bobby worked for the Water Department in Oakwood for 22 years. In the past you could find him at Vermilion County Speedway racing stock cars. He enjoyed riding his Harley, mountain biking, going to concerts, and spending time outdoors with his daughter and his golden retriever “grandpup”. Bobby loved making people laugh and spending time with his loved ones. He was a selfless man who found joy in helping others and creating smiles. 

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Woodbury Falls, 19972 Woodbury Hill Danville, IL, 61834. Pastor Dave Garver will officiate graveside committal rights in Stearns Cemetery at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing.
