Raymond Taylor

Raymond “Ray” Taylor, 75, of Covington, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022. He was born on February 17, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the son of Raymond and Florence (Upton) Taylor. He was united in marriage to Wanda Gee on July 31, 1986.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Wanda; children, Donna (Dale) Swick of Crawfordsville, IN, Dr. Scott Wade (Dr. Stephen Zinner) Taylor of Boston, MA, Micheal (Chris) Booe of Kingman, IN, Julie (Jim) Flynn of Kingman, IN, and Deborah (Jason) Smith of Covington, IN; grandchildren, Nathan Booe, Logan Booe, Courtney Swick, Kale Flynn, Greta Smith, and Keira Smith; great grandchildren, Henlee, Jep, and Etta Booe; nephews, Damon (Michelle) Brown and Lee (Aimie) Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dianne Haynes, nephew, Ryan Brown.

Ray worked maintenance at River Crest Golf Course in Covington for 22 years. he enjoyed working on hot rods, wood working, and the many trips he took with his wife and their close friends, Mike, and Nancy Crowder. Ray was very handy; he was always willing to lend a hand or help anyone who needed it.  He loved designing and creating projects out of pallets, AKA Rays pallet Barn. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 2:00pm (EST) on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, IN, 420 3rd St. Covington, IN 47932. A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. per Ray’s wishes he will be cremated following the services.
