Quinten 'Quint' Rouse Obituary

Quinten “Quint” Louis Rouse, 78, of Danville, IL passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021, at his home with his son by his side.  He was born November 29, 1942, in Chicago, IL to the late QL and Nora Belle Rouse. On June 15, 1974, he married the love of his life Betty (Glover) Rouse, who preceded him in death.
Quint served in the U.S. Navy for four years. At the age of 59, he obtained his GED, which he was very proud about.
Quint retired from GM Powertrain and worked at Kik until his second retirement in 2018. Quint was an avid amateur radio operator, with his call sign KA9LNJ. He was the vice president of the VCARA (Vermilion County Amateur Association). Shortly after his wife, Betty, passed away, Quint started riding his recumbent trike up to 20 miles, something he enjoyed doing.  He enjoyed meeting up with friends in the mornings at McDonald’s. During COVID-19 they would sit out in the parking lot either in their cars, or in lawn chairs discussing the state of the world from their point of view.
Those who survive him include:  his son, Scott (Marianne) Rouse, grandchildren Sara Watson-Rouse, and William Lloyd; along with several nieces and nephews and a brother- in-law, Tom Juras.  Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Glover Rouse, his parents, and sister, Karen Juras.
It was Quint’s wish not to have a service, he wanted to be cremated and laid to rest next to his wife, Betty.  KA9LNJ silent key 73’s
