Phyllis Tutwiler

Phyllis M. Tutwiler, 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Arcadia Care in Danville. She was born on April 26, 1933, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Noggle) Lathrop in Glen Haven, Wisconsin. They precede her in death.

Also preceding her in death include her husband who passed in 2006, Ralph Edward Tutwiler Sr.; son, Mark Allen Tutwiler; and grandson, Simeon Alexander.

Phyllis leaves behind her two children, Ralph Tutwiler Jr. and Lindia Tutwiler; grandchildren, Eddie Tutwiler, Jimmy Tutwiler, Stanley Grider, Gregrance Rigsby, Serina Tutwiler, and Mark Tutwiler; and great grandchildren, Levi, Titus, Asher, LilyAnne, Aleythia, Ada, Phineas, Rancey, Roarie, Reagann, and Devin.

Phyllis was a member of the Fairmount Conservation Club since 1964. She loved to do arts and crafts including crotchet, needlepoint embroidery, and quilting. She loved making quilts and even gifted many of them to her friends and family. Phyllis also loved being outdoors. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and loved visiting the mountains. One of her other hobbies included playing slots. Phyllis was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Kitinoja. Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
