Philip Berge Obituary

Philip M Berge, 88, went home to be with his wife Barbara (Sprague), parents Robert and Beda Berge and all of his brothers and sisters on Tuesday, November 24th.

Phil, originally from Minnesota, had live many places including England. He had been a veteran, a police officer and a journeyman welder.  He loved to read, sing, travel, and figure out how things worked. 

Phil had last lived in Covington, Indiana where he and his wife Barbara had volunteered at the Circle of Friendship Senior Center.  He had spent the last six years of his life at the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette, Indiana where he received wonderful care. His family wish to express their great appreciation to all of the staff for their love and kindness to Phil.

Surviving him are his children Ellen Glover-Howie of Oakwood, Timothy (Yvonne) Watson of Houma Louisiana, and Gary (Marla) Watson of Danville. His grandchildren, Samuel and Karolina Howie of Oakwood, Illinois, Philip (Anne) Watson of Metairie, Louisiana, Aaron Watson of Tomball, Texas, and Ryan Watson of Terra Haute, Indiana. Four great grandchildren, Aubren, Otis, Julia and George Watson, many nieces and nephews, two sisters- in- law and one brother-in-law.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery. The family asks that donations to the made to the Covington Circle of Friendship Senior Center or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in place of flowers.
