Michael Wallace

Danville – Michael D. Wallace, 80, of Danville died April 3, 2021 at his home.

Michael was born January 28, 1941 in Potomac, Illinois a son of Helen and Farrell Wallace.

He is survived by his son, Kelley Michael Wallace of New York City, New York, granddaughter, Luz Wallace, grandson, Tyler Wallace and special caregiver, Robert Rybarczyk.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill Wallace, and one sister, Juanita Wallace.

Michael worked at General Motors as an engineer since he was 21 years old until his retirement at age 55 when the plant closed.  In his retirement, Michael enjoyed gardening and flowering. He even won Top Garden Danville numerous times.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Miles Clark will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the funeral home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the visitation or services wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
