Mary Kathryn "Katie" Meyer

Mary Kathryn (Katie) Meyer of Danville went to be with her Lord on May, 1, 2022 at her home in the Villas of Holly Brook. Katie was born February 24, 1929 in Elsberry, Missouri, the daughter of Reavis and Elsie Zimmerman Patton. She graduated from Westville High School and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company.

She was a member of The Retired Telephone Employee's Club and Bethel Lutheran Church.

She married Frank Ibbotson in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1980. On April 26, 2003 she married Mark L. Meyer, who survives. In addition to her husband, Katie is survived by her daughter, Roberta Maskel of Danville, Illinois; step- daughters Lee-Ann Meyer and Carmen Bailey of Indianapolis, Indiana and step-son Brian (Kelly) Meyer of Plainfield, Indiana; two grandchildren, Christopher Hamick of Kansas, and Amy Hamick of Danville; five step-grandchildren, Alicia, Mark, Mara, Sarah and Bryson Meyer; one great granddaughter Ashley Constans; step-grandsons Preston, Peyton, and Parker Meyer; two nieces, Barbara Patton Hering of Lombard, Illinois and Pamela Burroughs of Terre Haute, Indiana; and a nephew, Michael Patton of Saginaw, Michigan.

Katie was also preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Marilyn Patton and brother Robert Patton.

A celebration of Katie’s life will be at 11:00 am on May 5, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, with Pastor Edward Stone officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 am until 11:00 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
