Mary M. Wear

Danville – Mary M Wear, 86, of Danville passed away at 8:32 pm at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL on May 6, 2020.

Mary was born on August 12, 1933 the daughter of George and Mildred (Johnson) Neal in Danville, IL.  She married Floyd Wear on January 2, 1953 in Danville, IL and he survives.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, two sons, Terry (Kathy) Wear of Crawfordsville, IN and Steven (Paula) Wear of Covington, IN as well as four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Timothy Wayne and one sister, Barbara Jarvis.

Mary was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the Nursery and with the Children’s Ministry. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and the proprietor of the Bible Book Nook in Danville and Paris, IL. Mary enjoyed her flowers, her winter trips to Florida with Floyd and visiting a variety of other states. She also loved to go for a car ride and travel the winding backroads of Indiana.  Most of all, Mary loved her grandchildren and she will be dearly missed by those that knew her.   

A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Joe Humrichous will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Macular Degeneration Foundation.
