Kenneth Brewer Obituary

     Kenneth T. Brewer, 98, of Tilton, formerly of Westville, passed away at 4:08pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was born on February 9, 1924, the son of Elmer and Iva (Swindle) Brewer. He was united in marriage for 70 years to Emmalu Shimkus on May 29, 1947, until her passing on February 2, 2018.
     He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Sheila (Tom) Leva and Betty Williams; grandchildren, Erik (Missy) Hill, Carl (Tonya) Hill, Amanda (Jason) Brown, Ryan (Star) Williams, Todd (Brenda) Wakeland, Tonya (James) Folsom; sister, Beverly Page; he is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and special friends, Virgil and Delores Sheets. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Emmalu and brother, Donald Brewer.
     He was proud to serve his country in the United States Army, he was Led by General Patton, he Landed in Normandy. Kenneth worked for the C&EI Railroad for 45 years. He was a member of the Elks lodge in Danville, Westville American Legion and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Kenneth enjoyed raising beagles, golfing, and mowing grass. He will be missed by all who knew him. 
     Per Kenneth’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. He will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donation may be made in his in his honor to the Westville American Legion.
