Jack Pollitt Obituary
Jack Pollitt, 65, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away at 1:05pm, Monday, July 6, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 24, 1954, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Harlan and Helen {Kiger} Pollitt. He was marred to Betty Bernard on March 24, 1979, in at First Baptist Church in Danville, IL. She will miss him deeply.
He will also be missed by: his children, Douglas Smalley, Wayne (Tami) Smalley, & Laurie (Mark) Cox; his grandchildren, Leah Smalley, Daniel Smalley, Abigail Smalley, Jared Smalley, Brittany Smalley, Breanna Smalley, Brooke Smalley, Nicole Sweet, and Andrew Sweet; and his siblings, Richard Pollitt, Mary (Philip) Price, Helen Tiffin, and Max Pollitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother, Bobby and his brothers, Harold & Chester.
Jack worked at Random House in Maintenance for 22 years. He enjoyed volunteering his time with many different charities and organizations like the FISH Clothing Closet and Pam’s Promises Transitional Housing. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church in Crawfordsville for 24 years and was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington since 2018. He also enjoyed working on cars. He will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 11:00am (EST), Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm (EST), Friday, July 10, 2020, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, IL. Memorial donations may be given in Jack’s name to Maranatha Baptist Church, Covington. Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
