Helen Jenson Obituary

Helen C. Jenson of Sacramento, California and formerly of Wellington, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at A&C Care Home in Carmichael, California.

Born at Prairie Green Township, Illinois on March 20, 1921, the daughter of Fabian & Clara Jenson who were prominent farmers in that area at the time. They preceded her in death.

Helen is survived by numerous relatives in California, South Dakota, Illinois and Sweden, and friends all over the U.S.A., whom she met through travel, etc.

She was involved in many organizations including Soroptimist of Sacramento and a long-time (30 year) member of Vasa Monitor Lodge #218.

Helen loved gardening and had many beautiful flowers in her yard and was an active long-time member of the River Park Garden Club. She was also an active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Carmichael, CA for many years and tried to help with flowers. Trimming, etc.

She graduated from Lamont Grade School (one room) and Wellington High School, and attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL.

Helen was employed by the Illinois Agency of State Farm Insurance Company until she moved to California in 1946. She was Office Manager for Les Schwab Motors for 9 years and then was Office and Business Manager for Dalton Motors Leasing for 41 years until she retired in 1997.

Helen loved to travel and went to many places including Sweden, Alaska, and other areas of the country.

She recently (3/20/21) celebrated her 100th Birthday with her family. What a wonderful party it was!

She will be buried beside her parents at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, Illinois. Most important of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and, while her body is buried here on earth, her spirit is very much alive in Heaven!
