Gary L. Crisp, 59, of Westville, passed away at 4:17pm, Monday, February 24, 2020, at his home. He was born on March 18, 1960, in Danville, IL, the son of Bill and Peggy (Brazeal) Crisp. He was united in marriage to Nancy Ingram on August 31, 1985, she survives.
He will be dearly missed by: son, Michael (Stephanie Gurney) Crisp of Ridge Farm, IL; special granddaughter who is loved dearly, Aaliyah Warner; brother, Kelly (Patty) Crisp of West Chester, OH; nieces, Angela (Tom) Serd, Erica (Keith Kiphart) Crisp and Stephanie (Brian) Scherrer; nephews, Donnie, Robbie and Jeremy Nourie; great niece, Elenaor Scherrer; sister in law, Carol Nourie. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Nourie.
Gary was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, refereeing high school sports, watching NASCAR and going for rides on his Harley.
He bravely battled cancer for 3 ½ years. He lived life to the fullest, completing his “bucket” list and more. Each day was a blessing until the lord decided to call him home. Anyone fortunate enough to know and love him knew what a generous and fun-loving personality he was. With his sincere smile that was contagious will be missed by all.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois, 414 S. State St. Westville, Illinois 61883. Dave Hastings will be officiating the service. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm, IL. Memorial donations may be given in his honor to OSF Cancer Center.
