Estella (De la Rosa) Vasquez

              Estella (De la Rosa) Vasquez, 71, of Danville passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana surrounded by her family. She was born in Edinburg, Texas a daughter of Jose and Santos De la Rosa on August 24, 1950. They preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother Freddie De la Rosa, sister Irma Sanchez, and granddaughter Stella Grace Vasquez.

              Estella attended Edinburg High School a graduate in the Class of 1970. She was crowned Ms. Edinburg in 1969, which was a title Estella was honored to hold. She married Julian R. Vasquez, Sr. and they spent a wonderful 50 years together. He survives. Also surviving are their children Julian (Angelica) Vasquez Jr., Gina (Terry) Vasquez, Gabriel (Christina) Vasquez, Jesus (Christina L.) Vasquez, Ezekiel Vasquez, Rafael (Rosi) Vasquez, and Roman Vasquez.  She leaves behind her grandchildren Anthony, Katrina, Kamilia, Anica, Abraham, Alyssa, Anabella, Ayden, Jace, Rosa, Cassandra, Makinzy, Victoria, Noah, Jonah, Eva, Masen, Uriah, Abe, Ezra, Edyn, Ethan, Natalie, Erik, and Eli and her siblings Delia Villanueva, Becky De la Rosa- Garcia, Enedelia Hernandez, Roy De la Rosa, Norma De la Rosa, Sylvia Perkins, and Rachel Bravo. She will be greatly missed by all.

              Estella had a very active role in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She was mom to all her grandchildren and looked forward to having family gatherings with everyone there. She enjoyed all her visits to Disney World, being outdoors whether it was an outing, walking, or gardening. She loved listening and dancing to Tejano music, going to the movies, doing puzzles, and coloring in her spare time.

              A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. A funeral service for Estella will be held the following morning on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will be hosting a repass meal following the funeral services at Rabbitttown Event Center, which all are welcome to attend.
