Donnie was an amazing man. He was very intelligent, caring, and loving. He was an Army Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 210, as well as a sniper for the state of Illinois. He also worked at the Department of Corrections. He had many state and Army friends whom he loved very much.
Donnie was also a family man. He had 4 wonderful children who were his world. Plus 2 bonus sons. He had many grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed going to the parks, Indiana Beach, Chuck E Cheese, birthday parties, ball games, and he especially loved getting the yard ready for Halloween just for the grandbabies. He loved doing magic tricks for them as well. He was so proud of his children and how great they were doing in their own lives.
Donnie loved taking care of his parents and all the memories he had with them. Like doing karaoke at the blue bird, taking family trips, picking on his younger brother Dave. He loved telling stories about the stuff they did as kids. He loved all of his brothers, sister, and all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He had a passion for singing and playing the guitar and writing many many songs. Donnie was also big into electronics and NASA. He loved building model rockets and programming. He also had a passion for flying and skydiving. He loved to repel when he worked for the state as well. He loved getting people out of their comfort zone and challenging them to do better in their lives. He cherished each and every one of his family and friends. He would always be doing something. You would always see him with a smile on his face. He truly loved everyone. He would always give you a hug and either say "Have a blessed day" or "I love you."
Donnie will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
