Donna Jean (Manganello) Dowers

     Donna Jean Dowers, 78, of Marion, IL, formerly of Georgetown, IL, passed away at 8 pm, Thursday, July 15, 2021, surrounded by family at the home of her daughter, Maria.
     She was born on February 3, 1943, the daughter of Eugene and Marjorie (Sherman) Manganello of Georgetown, IL. She married William Dean Dowers of Georgetown, IL, on January 26, 1962. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2003. She married Dale Self of Marion, IL, on February 6, 2006. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2017.
     Survivors include her son: Evan Eugene (Rosalie) Dowers of St. Joseph, IL, her two daughters: Lena (Craig Vincent) Dowers of St. Louis, MO, and Maria (Lance) Brown of Crab Orchard, IL; five grandchildren Dutch, Benjamin, and Dezarae Dowers, Dakota and Carson Brown; and two sisters, Mary (Jim) Martin of Hillsboro, IN, and Ellen (Duaine) Ramey of Veedersburg, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
     Donna had many interests and hobbies throughout her lifetime. She was very creative and loved making outdoor holiday decorations. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. There is much joy when the family discusses all the adventures they shared on vacation trips. Donna spent time bowling, bicycling, geocaching, gambling, and spending time in nature. She dearly loved her pet dog, Charley.
     A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown, IL.  Her family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E.
