David W. Rice

David Weseley Rice, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville. He was born on May 3, 1943 the son of Loretta (Epperson) and Gay Rice in Danville, IL.

He is survived by daughter Angela (Nick) Moody; grandchildren, Alicia, Ben, and Anna; sister, Sharlene (Jim) Clark; and nieces and nephews, Shelli, Kevin, and Stephanie.

David is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Lane; and Aunt, Novella “Snooks” Parker.

David loved music; he enjoyed playing the guitar and owned many. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering on cars, and he loved his family. He especially loved spending holidays with the family. David had a big personality and was always fun to be around. He will be dearly missed by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Kenneth Jones. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
