Dave Williams, 77, of Danville, passed away at 12:35pm on Wednesday May 8, 2019 in Urbana. Dave was born on March 30, 1942, the son of Lester and Alice Williams.
Surviving Dave is daughter, Kelli Williams; sons, Rich (Noelle) Miller, Jason Pinnick; sister, Linda (Bob) Adolph; grandchildren, Allie Miller, Bentley Miller, Chris Miller, Blake Miller, Colton Miller, Jason Jr. Pinnick and Aslynn Pinnick.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Williams, Jerry Williams and sister, Carolyn Williams.
Dave graduated from Oakwood High School class of 1961. He then worked for Kraft Foods where he retired in 1997 after 38 years as Supervisor. Dave was on the Hoffman Racing pit crew at the Indy 500 for many years but he enjoyed all types of racing. Dave also enjoyed spending time on the beach during his Florida vacations and being surrounded by palm trees and flowers. In his spare time Dave liked riding his bike, mushroom hunting and fishing. In high school he played basketball and was number one at State for pole vaulting. Dave loved Jesus and his family and will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday May 11, 2019 at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel 105 E South Main St. in Oakwood. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9am to 12pm at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel. Per Dave’s wishes we would like to invite you to come in casual attire, racing shirts welcome.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Davey’s love for Team 62. Checks may be payable to Team 62.
