Charles 'Chuck' Henry Suttles

     Charles ‘Chuck’ Suttles, 87, of Covington, IN, passed away at 3:52a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL.  He was born on October 8, 1934, in Brevard, NC, the son of William and Leado {Rippie} Suttles.  He was united in marriage to Nancy D. Roller on October 4, 1955, until her passing on October 4, 2017.
     Chuck is survived by his children, Debbie (George) Davis of Danville and Bill Suttles of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Eli, Kyle, Chris, Ryan, & Casey; his three great grandchildren; and his siblings, Albert, Bethaleah, & Kenneth.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sharon (Dick) Leach; his granddaughters, Amy & Jennifer; and his siblings, Mac, Mary, Annie, & William.
     Chuck was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force serving for 23 years.  He worked for the Fountain County School District for 20 plus years.  Chuck was an avid golfer playing into his late 70's.  He was known as a big fan of the Atlanta Braves, as well as the Chicago Cubs, and University of North Carolina basketball.  He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
     A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 2:00pm (Illinois time), Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932.  Visitation will be held 1:00pm to 2:00pm (Illinois time) on Sunday prior to his service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to Mission K9 Warrior project.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
