I went for an interview at the VA in 2007 and while awaiting my appointment time, into the break room walked Cathy Morris. She looked at me and with a tone we all know well uttered dryly “Who the heck are you?” Nervously I replied “I’m Erin and I’m here for an interview.” She went about making coffee and replied “ you’re here to take my job.” 😳

I didn’t know what to think or say but replied something like “oh no, I’m here for another position.” She looked at me blankly for a moment and then started laughing. Cathy went on to say she was retiring In 2 years and 88 days, or whatever the exact number was, and that I kinda would be taking her spot. We both laughed, the tension lessened, and I had my first of many hilarious experiences with Cathy Morris.

Some people come into your life and you’re changed forever. Cathy definitely help shape me into the nurse I am today. 💜

Grateful to have known and learned from Cathy. Sending my love Larry!
