Casimier "Cas" Mokijewski Obituary

     Casimier “Cas” Mokijewski, 82, of Westville, passed away at 4:42am, Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana, IL.  He was born March 25, 1938, in Poland, the son of Stefan and Konstancja {Jankowska} Mokijewski, both deceased.  He was united in marriage to Lois “Ann” Ingram on May 18, 1957, at St. Mary’s Church, Westville, IL.  She will miss him dearly.

     Cas is also survived by his son, Chuck (Ilene) Mokijewski; his daughters, Amy (Jimmy) Belew & Lisa (Bob) Pierce; his brother, Edward (Bernie) Mokijewski; his sisters, Helena Gazda, Angela Johnson, and Christine (Kaye) Foreman; his grandchildren, Shereen K-Fard, Julie Rhodes, Max Mokijewski, Hannah Mokijewski, Nick (Mindy) Pierce, Chris (Mellisa) Pierce, and Shelby (Bradley) Sprouls; and 8 great-grandchildren.  Cas was preceded in death by his infant sons, Casimier Anthony Mokijewski & Michael Joseph Mokijewski; as well as his sister, Bernice Sawicki.

     Cas graduated from Schlarman High School, Class of 1956, and was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church in Westville. He retired in 2000 after 46 years at Sherwin-Williams. Cas was known to many through his association with Westville Lions Club, and received the Living Legacy Award at the Labor Day Celebration in 2016.  Many of his adult years were spent playing golf, bowling, and fishing. He could also be found visiting his favorite restaurant, The Covered Bridge.  Cas cherished his family and spending time with them was important to him.  He will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

     A private family service will be held at St. Mary's Church, 231 N. State Street, Westville, Illinois with Father Sauppé officiating.  Cas will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville.  His family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883.  Please join his family in sharing memories, photos, & videos through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
