Beverly Miskus Obituary
Beverly J. (Houston) Miskus, 93 of Danville, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 peacefully at home. She was born on May 9, 1927, the daughter of William and Florence (Jenkins) Houston. She was united in marriage to Frank Miskus on August 13, 1994, until his passing in 2006.
She is survived by her children, Lance (Denise) Vascura, Donnie (Diane Fadl) Vascura, Bobby (Michelle Hall) Vascura and daughter with whom she resided, Chris “Sissy” Long. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.; nieces, Sheri (George) Mueller and Dottie (Bubba) Vrazel; nephew, Robert (Patti) Mingee and many more nieces and nephews just too many to name. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Frieda Mingee and Sonna Hart, brother, Robert Houston.
Beverly graduated from Westville High School in 1945. For over 50 years Beverly tended bar at many places like, Lil’s Jockey Club, Greer Lincoln, Alibi, Westville Legion and Stefanis. At one time she and frank owned their own bar Bevs Brook Street Lounge. Her passion was making flower arrangements and raising dogs, at one time she had her own dog kennel. She leaves Buster and lucky, her two final dogs that never left her bedside. A special thank you to Tressa Brandt for her continued care for more than 3 years and her granddaughter, Erica Carwile, who tended her final needs.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois, 414 S. State St. Westville, Illinois 61883. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the funeral home. she will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
