Albert E. Wilson

Danville- Albert Ernest Wilson, 72, of Danville, passed away at 3:36 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. He was born on February 11, 1950, to Marilyn Davis. He married Heather Hamilton on January, 3, 2014. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Frank (Jennifer) Wilson of Danville, and James Wilson; two grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail Wilson; three sisters, Tootie Riley, Gladys Rogers, Brenda Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters.

Albert served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He worked in dietary at the VA Illiana Health Care System for nearly 30 years before retiring. Albert was a Cardinal’s fan and enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and could often be found working on one of many projects around the house. He was a talented woodworker and in his earlier years, he liked to search for treasures with his metal detector and play golf. Albert also especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Heather.

A service to celebrate the life of Albert Wilson will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastor Matt Filicsky will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, prior to the service on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville.
