Larry G. Woodard, 81, passed with his daughter by his side holding her hand on Friday, February 01, 2019 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana. He was born on February 17, 1937 the son of John and Ruby (Manhart) Woodard in Newtown, IL. They precede him in death.
Also preceding Larry in death include his wife Shirley Ann, and one sister, Shirley Parker of Oblong, IL.
Surviving Larry are two sons, Jeff (Crystal) Woodard of Killeen, TX and John (Kristin) Woodard of Catlin, IL; one daughter, Anette (Jim) Bailey of Danville, IL; one sister Donna (Nolan) Jones or Homer, IL; nine grandchildren, JJ Bailey, Andrew Bailey, Greg Woodard, Tim Woodard, Mathiew Woodard, Larry Woodard, Brianna Woodard, Kaitlyn Woodard, and Kyler Woodard; several step grandchildren that he loved as his own, two great grandchildren, Rowan Bailey and Atticus Woodard, and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Larry was a retired Laborer from the Laborers’ International Union of America.
Larry was also a member of the Cornerstone Church in Danville and a charter member of the Fargo Jayco Camping Club since 1984. He enjoyed camping, crafting, square dancing, and taking care of his yard. He especially loved spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Cox. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
