Mabel Lucille (Rose) Boernson

Mabel Boernson went to be with the Lord April 16, 2024, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, Illinois. Mabel Lucille Rose was born February 23, 1929, to Robert Lee and Lillie Ann Eskridge Rose in Holt, Kentucky. She married Earl Beaver in 1948 and they had 4 children. He passed away August 26, 1998.

Mabel was a CNA for many years and loved helping people.

She is survived by her children Linda (Gene) Zick of Greenville, IL and Gary (Julie) Beaver of Westville, IL; grandchildren Michele (Bradley) Krieg of Greenville, IL., Michael (Sherry) Zick of Highland, IL., and Brian (Tuyen) Beaver of Westville, IL.; 9 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Violet Parker of Tell City, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 4 brothers, her parents, an infant son Richard Earl Beaver, son Charles Beaver, grandson Daniel Ray Beaver, and stepdaughter Rita Morton.

She loved to mow grass and bake banana bread and peanut butter cookies for family and the kids in the neighborhood. She was an Elvis fan. Most of all she loved the Lord and her family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1-2 pm at Sunset Funeral Home’s Houghton-Leasure Chapel, located at 200 E. West Street in Georgetown, IL. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm. Gene Zick will be officiating the service. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park Cemetery following the services.
