Obituary for Richard "Rich" Land

Richard “Rich” Land, 72, of Chrisman, passed away at 5:35pm, Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Pleasant Meadow Senior Living, Chrisman. He was born on September 14, 1945, in Danville the son of John and Lena {Anderson} Land. He was wed to Mitzi Simons Boots in February of 2015.
He is survived by: his wife, Mitzi Boots; his son, Robert (Shelley) Land; his daughter, Amy Land; his step sons, Jason (Brandi) Boots & Joel Boots; his brother, Steve (Mary Lee) Land; his sister, Carolyn Robinson; his grandson, Christopher Land; his step grandchildren, Gavin McLamroch, Carissa Barham, & Lucas Barham; and one step great grandchild, Nicholas Eslinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Howard Robinson.
Rich was a farmer and raised livestock. He was a member of the Ridge Farm Fire Department and the Vermilion Grove Drainage District. He enjoyed riding snow mobiles and motorcycles. He was known to love to drive around and study the crops.
A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday July 14, 2018, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, July 13, 2018, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Friends Chapel, Scotland. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Ridge Farm Fire Department. Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at
